Tovah Design Philosophy
Good design is a selfless endeavor that places the needs of the consumer above personal preferences. It requires thoughtful attention to how a product serves its users and those around them, with honesty guiding every decision. Accessibility is a priority, ensuring that each design remains usable and intuitive for everyone.
By striving for excellence, good design contributes positively to the world. It embraces innovation as a means of improvement while acting as a steward of creation. This includes minimizing environmental impact through sustainable materials and intentional choices in manufacturing and design.
Functionality is essential. Practicality and symbolism work together, allowing visual elements to convey meaning and emotion that resonate with users. At its core, good design fosters connection and unity, creating experiences that bring people together.
Summary of Experience
During my internship at Creative Visual Solutions, I immersed myself in 3D modelling, line drawing, and rendering, managing design timelines effectively. This experience allowed me to contribute my CAD expertise to trade show booth designs, showcasing my ability to create dynamic and engaging spaces.
At Encore Market Engagement, I worked as a Creative Specialist and Product Display Installer, where I designed visually cohesive guides for training employees on the program. I also travelled across Canada to install these displays myself. This role taught me the importance of visual communication and the practical aspects of graphic design.
My time at PragerNuform as a Design and Engineering Intern also developed my technical skills. I used SolidWorks, Illustrator, and Photoshop to conceptualize and render retail displays and fixtures. This experience taught me how to bridge the gap between designers and manufacturing through high-detail technical packages.
Additionally, my role as an Assembly Worker at PragerNuform provided hands-on experience in efficient manufacturing processes. This taught me how to design with manufacturing efficiency in mind, ensuring that my designs are not only innovative but also practical and feasible.
With a solid foundation in Industrial Design from Carleton University and a minor in Business Entrepreneurship, I am well-equipped to bring innovative solutions to complex design challenges. My diverse experiences have further been put to use through my business, Tovaform, where I offer clients freelancer flexibility and firm-level execution through a network of vetted freelancers.
